[Ferro-alloys.com]US imports of 99-99.99% silicon were 40,097 mt in the first four months of 2013 and 9,377 mt in April vs. 42,184.3 mt and 6,990.4 mt, respectively, in the same 2012 periods. Major suppliers in April (first four months of 2013 in parentheses) were: South Africa, 4,107 mt (13,876 mt); Australia, 1,352.1 mt (7,275.4 mt); Brazil, 1,260.7 mt (5,374.9 mt); Thailand, 1,128 mt (4,244.4 mt); Canada, 722.2 mt (4,092.6 mt); and Norway, 624 mt (3,050 mt).
