Brazil increased its power generation capacity by 1.03GW in November, with thermal power plants accounting for 39pc of total growth.
Thermal plants were responsible for 404.8MW of the expansion, while solar and wind generation added 314.1MW and 271MW, respectively, according to the country's electricity regulator Aneel.. The country also added 40MW from small hydroelectric plants.
Brazil's total installed generating capacity rose to 188.2GW as of 9 December.
