  On March 24, Doosan innovation signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Puxiang steel SPS, and the two sides will cooperate to develop 20 μ m ultra-thin metal bipolar plate for hydrogen powered UAV.

 POSCO iron is the second largest iron and Steel Group in the world, and the South Korea’s first iron and Steel Group, while the affiliated SPS is a subsidiary specializing in the production of high-precision metal products such as metal bipolar plate. Currently, poss470fc developed by poss has the advantages of corrosion resistance, high conductivity, durability and stable performance.

  The hydrogen powered UAV, including the aircraft, has a very high demand for the lightweight of fuel cell. At present, the metal bipolar plate used in the fuel cell system produced by Doosan innovation and mass production is a 50 μ M product developed by POSCO SPS. The 50 μ m metal bipolar plate is a very thin product series on the market. At present, the thickness of the bipolar plate used in the automobile is about 80-100 μ M.

  The 20 μ M products developed in this strategic cooperation plan will be used not only for improving the lightweight technology of current products, but also for small logistics UAV (cago), urban air traffic (UAM) and other products.

  The CEO of Doosan innovation said that the metal bipolar plates used by each hydrogen powered UAV are about 450, which are the core components of the reactor and one of the important technologies to ensure the leading global hydrogen powered UAV. The design technology maintained by Doosan and the production and manufacturing technology of POSCO SPS promote the application in various fields.

  As the world's leading supplier of small and light weight hydrogen fuel cell system, Doosan innovation maintains the overall solutions from the design and development of core components and systems of the reactor and the supply of hydrogen. Currently, mass production of hydrogen powered multi rotors has been sold in South Korea, China, North America and other regions. The development of hydrogen power VTOL, hydrogen powered helicopter and hydrogen power robot will also be listed in mass production this year. Doosan innovation is also actively expanding cooperation with UAV manufacturers around the world, and further expanding the application scenarios and fields of products.
