[Fellow]Brazil's steel consumer industry is worried about insufficient steel stocks

Ferro-alloys.com:According to reports, several Brazilian steel-consuming industries, including machinery and civil construction, are worried about a possible lack of steel products.

Although steel supply eased quickly, the trade organization said that steel prices are somewhat high and may rise further. This upward adjustment may hinder the profit margins of these steel-consuming industries.

"This is chaos. It has never been so bad.... We are in the worst moment of a steel supply shortage," said José Velloso, chairman of the Brazilian Association of Machinery Manufacturers (ABIMAQ).

As for the civil construction sector, people's concerns are focused on the contracts that have been finalized, which did not take into account the increase in steel prices.

José Carlos Martins, chairman of the Brazilian Chamber of Civil Construction, said that this situation poses a "huge" risk because the cost of products, including steel, rises, and companies may lack the resources to complete civil construction projects.

The Brazilian Iron and Steel Association (IABr) said that the domestic steel industry is currently operating at 67.3% of the production capacity, which can meet domestic demand for steel products.
