Ferro-alloys.com:According to data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Association (JISF), in December last year, Japan’s domestic steel product consumption reached 4.42 million tons, an increase of 6.4% compared to November and an increase of 6.2% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, by 2020, Japan's domestic steel product consumption will drop by 13.6% year-on-year to 45.31 million tons.
In 2020, the consumption of steel products in the Japanese construction industry fell by 4.5% to 9.97 million tons, while the consumption of steel products in the Japanese automobile industry reached 10.53 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 17.6%. In this year, the Japanese shipbuilding industry consumed 3.08 million tons of steel products, a decrease of 20.4% from 2019.
