[Fellow]U.S. steel scrap exports fell by 18.8% in December, and by 4.5% in 2020

Ferro-alloys.com:According to the latest data from the U.S. International Trade Commission, in December 2020, the total amount of U.S. steel scrap exports was 12,056.84 million tons, a decrease of 18.8% month-on-month and 9.3% year-on-year.

Mexico was the largest recipient of US steel and scrap exports in December, with a total export volume of 2.7458 million tons, an increase of 21.8% month-on-month and 192.9% year-on-year. Other notable destinations include: Vietnam, 158,163 tons in December; Turkey, 152,134 tons; Taiwan, 109,338 tons; Egypt, 80,833 tons.

For the whole year of 2020, the total export volume of US scrap steel was 168,743,790 tons, a decrease of 4.5% from the 1,766,675 million tons in 2019.
