Ferro-alloys.com:According to statistics, Vietnam’s waste imports in 2020 will reach 5.85 million tons, an increase of 13% over the previous year, reaching the highest level in eight years.
Among them, imports from Japan were 3.41 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 55%; imports from the United States, the second largest source of imports, were 1.03 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 17%.
Vietnam’s scrap import growth in 2020 stems from the good performance of its construction and manufacturing industries, which increased by 5.6% year-on-year.
With the continuous increase of domestic steel production capacity, Vietnam's scrap steel imports are expected to continue to rise in the near future.
