  Ma'anshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. is a typical urban steel plant with its back on the Yangtze River and its green belts in Ma'anshan, Rentouji, Xishan and other cities. The characteristics of multi-point, wide range and long process determine the huge pressure and heavy task of environmental protection. The former No.2 slag line of Masteel (hereinafter referred to as No.2 slag line) is located in Cihutang Branch Road, Jinjiazhuang District. It mainly undertakes the treatment of steel slag, industrial waste and other solid wastes produced by the former No.2 steel rolling plant, and its land property belongs to the joint stock company.

  At the beginning of 2016, in accordance with the deployment requirements of Masteel on structural function adjustment of No.2 slag line and permanent shutdown after material clearing, resource branch specially studied and formulated the "management measures for excavation and exploration of No.2 slag mountain of resource branch", and took the lead in organizing excavation and processing of deep buried steel slag in No.2 slag mountain area since March 2016, which was completed at the end of September that year.

  Adhering to the concept of green development, Masteel's pace of building a green city steel plant is accelerating, and the deep treatment of the second slag line is put on the agenda. In 2019, the comprehensive environmental treatment project of No.2 slag line of Masteel was officially established, which is also a prominent environmental rectification problem of Masteel in 2019. The project started on June 22, 2020. Considering that the original plant site is a concave steel slag yard with high, medium and low surrounding areas, the site was first leveled, with a total area of 72000 square meters, so the surrounding structures were demolished.
