  Nmdcl and Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MeCl), two Indian state-owned iron ore miners, have reached a cooperation agreement to jointly explore iron ore, coal and other mines in various Indian states, an official statement said recently.

  NMDC hopes to meet the demand of India's domestic steel industry and make policy efforts for the government to achieve manufacturing self-sufficiency. The chairman of NMDC said in the statement that it would focus on prioritizing exploration areas and helping to achieve the goal of promoting domestic steel production.

  The chairman of MeCl said that the company was fully prepared to expand and accelerate the exploration scope of all mineral commodities in Pan India.
