[Ferro-Alloys.com] Weaker Australian market fundamentals combined with soft demand expectations in South Korea pushed Argus' cfr South Korea price to a new low this week.
Prices in Australia, the biggest coal supplier to South Korea, were in the red this week.
But the decrease was even wider for the NAR 5,800 kcal/kg market in South Korea amid lower power demand expectations and rising nuclear availability, which weighed on prices despite an increase in South Korean tender activity this week.
Korea Western Power (Kowepo) was also scheduled to close a tender seeking around 1.7mn t of NAR 5,600 kcal/kg coal through a term contract on 30 July.
