[Ferro-Alloys.com] The Ukrainian government passed a resolution imposing a 65 percent duty on imported Russian coal with some exceptions starting from April 15, the Ukrainian government said Thursday.
An exception will be made for anthracite, coking and coal used in the metallurgical industry, as well as lean coal, suitable for the production of electric and thermal energy, the government said on its website.
In June 2019, Russia imposed a ban on the export of coal, oil and related products to Ukraine, and these products can only be delivered if authorized.
In response, the Ukrainian side imposed special duties on the import of diesel fuel and liquefied natural gas from Russia.
