Privat Group might still idle its Zaporozhye and Stakhanov ferro-alloys plants in Ukraine after failing to secure a lower electricity rate that was provisionally granted, according to market sources.
The Ukrainian ferro-alloys producer announced in September it would idle the plants due to high electricity costs, but later cancelled its plans in anticipation of the lower rate. The company is still being charged the higher rate and may have to close the plants as initially planned. "There was once information saying the Ukrainian government issued the decree granting the preferential rate for electricity to Zaporozhye."
