Rogetta mine to offer 200 production jobs and 100 permanent jobs

Around 200 production jobs and 100 enduring jobs are anticipated to be offered by Forward Mining’s Rogetta Mine, near Hampshire, when functional. Job applications are to be taken by the company preparing to mine iron ore south of Burnie, and can register via Forward Mining’s website. Burnie Mayor Alvwyn Boyd reported on June 6, when the federal acceptance was pronounced that the project would convey substantial economic and social advantages for the Burnie region as it could proceed now. About $100 million is estimated to cost for the development purpose. The project along with the Hermal development at Hampshire would benefit the city, region and state as this would be one of the largest mine in Tasmania in 50 years. According to Geoff Summers who is Chairman and Chief Executive reported that the agreements had been off taken by the company, now waiting for it to run possibly as soon as it could be. Further he added that the Rogetta ore is extremely high in quality and is expected to produce a concentrate that is 69% plus pure iron. The mine would be functioned smoothly for eight years with the mineral resources they have and are planning to invest more around $10 million for exploration or drilling program which would increase the life of mine for 30 years. Mr. Summers said that now approvals are taken and almost everything is done so they will proceed to the final designing and work on mill.
