Large-scaled enterprise rises its offer to drive the whole prices in raw material market to be high. Although prices in the raw material market is firm and tend to rise, affected by the lower tender or purchased prices of steel mills, vanadium alloys prices have slumped. Tender price of vanadium-nitrogen alloy of a steel mill in Shandong was RMB 294,200/MT (acceptance, 180 tons). Both offers of ferro-vanadium and vanadium-nitrogen alloy have slumped today, vanadium-nitrogen alloy is quoted at RMB 290,000/MT to RMB 300,000/MT (cash-acceptance) from RMB 295,000/MT to RMB 305,000/MT (cash-acceptance) previously, down by RMB 5,000/MT. Ferro-vanadium enterprises also have lowered their offers and the offer at a high level of RMB 210,000/MT have reduced. Facing the high cost of raw material and the oppression of the downstream steel mills, vanadium alloy enterprises are helpless. “The transaction cannot be concluded if the offer is high, and the raw material cannot be purchased if the offer is low, so now the offer is difficult to made”, a vanadium alloy enterprise said.
