China’s stainless steel output reached 2.15 million mt in November, down 1.5% from October.
Series 200 saw production down 4.1% month on month to 633,000 mt, series 300 was down 1.2% to 1.08 million mt, while series 400 was up 1.5% to 438,000 mt.
Price wise, November saw downward movement as mills’ profits narrowed and cut production. Some mills including Shangtai Enterprise in Inner Mongolia and JISCO Stainless have gone on maintenance last month.
Total output from January to November stood at 22.28 million mt, up 5% from the same period last year, according to SMM research.
