A video conference kicked off on Nov 16 for the reform of import waste management. Li Ganjie, Minister of Ministry of Environmental Protection of China, said in the meeting that “the key part of the reform is to remarkably reduce the waste import”. Ministry of Environmental Protection revealed that it would start special operations to fight against waste import industry’s violation of environment protection rules from 2018 to 2020. Meanwhile, stricter standard will be applied for the Certificate of Approval for Import in 2018.
