Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel of China plans to increase stainless raw steel output by 10% to record 3.3 million tonnes in 2012 from 2011. The production is full capacity at monthly near 300,000 tonnes through May. The firm meets growing domestic demand by utilizing the world top class of facilities including rolling mills with 1,829 millimeters width and world sole 2,000 mm width. The firm improves the cost competitiveness by increasing captive raw materials.
The world top class stainless maker makes nickel and chrome series of stainless. The firm invests to exhaust manifold and already ships the sample for transplants of Japanese automakers. The firm tries to shift to higher valued products.
Chinese stainless demand increased by 12.1% to 2.768 million tonnes in January-March from same period of 2011. The firm tries to expand the sales as domestic leading maker with diversified products line. The firm also increases the export to 18% of the total sales by developing market in India and Southeast Asia.
