Samancor closes eight ferro-chrome furnaces under Eskom power-saving deal

[Ferro-Alloys.com]Samancor has taken eight charge chrome furnaces offline in South Africa under an agreement with state power group Eskom, ceo Jurgen Schalamon said.
 
Schalamon said that strike action by Samancor members of the national mineworkers union had not influenced the decision in any way. “Samancor has eight furnaces offline at the moment due to the Eskom agreement.
