[www.ferro-alloys.com] According to United States steel import monitoring and analysis of data released by the Ministry of Commerce recently, United States iron and Steel Institute (AISI) announced in April this year, United States steel import permit applications totaled 2.449 million short tons, reduced 20% month on month, compared with 3.057 million short tons in March.
In April of this year, US’s finished steel import permit applications totaled 2.047 million short tons, down by 2%, compared with 2.097 million short tons in March.
In the first four months this year (including April SIMA and the initial March data), United States steel was 9.942 million short tons, down by 35% year on year and finished steel imports were 8.471 million short tons, down by 33%, respectively.
