[www.ferro-alloys.com] According to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) statistics, 2015/16 fiscal year (ending March 2016), Japan’s crude steel production was 1.04 billion tons, down by 5.2% year on year.
JISF indicated that Japan’s crude steel production was more than 1 billion tons for 6 consecutive years, but 2015/16 production in the fiscal year for the second level since 2008.
Among them, the converter steel production was 80.57 million tons, down by 4.7% year on year; electric steel production was 23.61 million tons, down by 6.5% year on year.
