[Ferro-Alloys.com] The government of India announced the anti-dumping investigation on hot steel plates imported from China, Japan, Korea, Brazil, Russia and Indonesia. The import of hot steel plates maybe blocked comprehensively.

The imported hot steel plates of all the grades and specifications, and those imported from Japan and Korea and Indonesia who have bilateral trade agreement with India will suffer the anti-dumping investigation.

India is endeavored to take all possible measures to restrict imports from any channel so that push up the domestic market price. After the imposition of safeguard measure tax on the hot rolled coils, the market demand has remained weak. But steel mills are eager to raise the price of hot rolled coils; the increase has been basically accepted by the market. Affected by the latest anti-dumping investigation, steel mills are brewing a new round of price rise.

Currently, the hot steel plates demand has been stable in Indian market. The ex-work price of general hot rolled coils is between USD2.85-2.95/mt.
