[Ferro-Alloys.com]It is reported that China totally exported 245.9 thousand tons of ferrosilicon in 2015, representing a sharp declining of 40% from 409.7 thousand ton in 2014. Among of this, China exported Si>55% ferrosilicon 209 thousand tons, showing a dramatic falling of 43.44% from 369.8 thousand tons in 2014; while China exported Si≤55% ferrosilicon dropped by 7.77% to 36.7 thousand tons.In terms of export destination, China exported 80 thousand tons of Si>55% ferrosilicon to Japan in the whole of 2015 which accounting for 40% of the total volume, but showing a steep dive from 165 thousand tons in 2014.
In 2015, China only exported 37 thousand tons to South Korea from 55.9 thousand in 2014. Meanwhile, China also supplied 31.67 thousand tons to USA, representing a dramatic decreasing on the basis of 63 thousand tons. In addition, China supplied 17 thousand Si>55% ferrosilicon to Taiwan Province of China from 18.8 thousand tons in 2014. Other areas are less than thousand tons.As for Si≤55%) ferrosilicon, South Korea served as our top importer with 17.3 thousand tons in 2015 which accounting for 47% all the total exports, While Japan places as second with 6,954 tons from China in 2015. Thailand became as third with 2,301 tons from China.In general, high export duty, non formal channel export, frequent exchange rate fluctuation and grim economic condition are all responsible for poor performance of ferrosilicon exports in China.
