[www.ferro-alloys.com] In domestic market, low-grade nickel ore 0.9-1.1 was traded at 120 yuan/t, up 20 yuan/t compared to last week; middle-grade nickel ore 1.5 was quoted at 200 yuan/t; high-grade nickel ore 1.8 was quoted at 310 yuan/t, up 20 yuan/t. In the international market, low-grade nickel ore 0.9-1.1 was quoted at 17/t; middle-grade nickel ore 1.5 was quoted at 28/t, down 1 dollar; high-grade nickel ore 1.8 was traded at 44 dollar/t, down 2 dollars compared to last week.

Since December, most Philippine nickel miners have halted to quote because of historical low nickel price and negative outlook. A trader accepted an ore quotation of 44 dollars per wet tone with a grade of 1.8%, higher than the purchasing price ferronickel smelters were expected to be 40 dollars per wet ton. Another trader quoted a selling price of 22 dollars per wet tone when the nickel ore grade was 1.4%.
