[Ferro-Alloys.com]The high-carbon ferrochrome tender prices from China's stainless steel mills in December surprised everybody, especially for the price from Tsingshan Group whose tender prices fell near by 10%. The new prices were expected to fall in December, while the nearly 10% fall worried the entire industry.
Most high-carbon ferrochrome producers stopped to quote their prices after the collapse in the price and focused on dealing with the difficult situation. However, some producers accepted what had happened and set their prices of high-carbon ferrochrome the same as the tender prices from the stainless steel mills.
Loss in the production of high-carbon ferrochrome would be seen if the chrome ore prices failed to fall accordingly, some producers stated. In the meantime, rainy season in Southern China ended, which has shut some factories down due to the following increasing power price. Adding some producers have cut their output due to the weak market, which put China's high-carbon ferrochrome production in severe jeopardy.
