[Ferro-Alloys.com]There was about RMB1,500/mt downturn in the price of ferrosilicon from the beginning of this year to November, representing sluggish demand. In fact, the number of shutdown for ferrosilicon factories are shown on the rise in the wake of another sharp fall for the price of mills’ bidding. 

In recent period, price of ferrosilicon 75 in north of China dropped to RMB4,400-4,500/mt and RMB4,000-4,100/mt for 72. As for production, there was no dramatic production cut for Erdos Xijin Kuangye Co.,Ltd and JUNZHENG in Inner Mongolia In Ningxia, there was only more or less three ferrosilicon companies maintain run. In Gansu, .the number of factories to struggle to run was also limit.

As for export, price of ferrosilicon 75# quoted at USD1,130-1,160/mt while USD1,100-1,120/mt for 72#. Fewer inquiries with cheap price set to both sides hard to make a deal. Apart from that, smuggling also disrupted export market.

In general, since increasing number of ferrosilicon plants were forced to cut production or shutdown, it is predicted that the downtrend pace would likely to slow amid no improvement for demand in the near future.
