[Ferro-alloys.com] China’s ferrosilicon market remained stagnant this week. Due to the limited downstream demands, the domestic transactions showed a poor performance. At present, the mainstream price of ferrosilicon 75# in Northwest China is RMB 4,500 - 4,600/mt(tax included, by cash) and the price of ferrosilicon 72# is RMB 4,200 – 4,300/mt(tax included, by cash). Individual enterprises are in a hurry to sell their products in order to withdraw funds so that they lower their price by RMB 100 - 200/mt. Besides, the ferrosilicon export market also remains sluggish: the price of ferrosilicon 75# at Tianjin Port is USD 1,200/mt(FOB); the price of ferrosilicon 72# is USD 1,150/mt(FOB). Nevertheless, the enquiries are few.

Although the ferrosilicon price varied widely from enterprises, the actual transaction price stayed at a low level. As the previous orders are still uncompleted, recently ferrosilicon producers mainly deal with the orders at hand. Thus, the transaction on the spot market is unpromising. As for the sales of ferrosilicon producers, it presents severe polarization and some badly-managed enterprises will probably be knocked out of the market. Inadequate orders force some ferrosilicon producers to lower their price to attract steel mills. In general, no matter the domestic market or the export market of the ferrosilicon, little improvement will be made in a short period and the market conditions will continue worsening.
