[Ferro-alloys.com] According to the Latin American iron and Steel Institute (Alacero) the latest data released, Latin American countries produced 5.5 million tons of crude steel in August, down 1% m-o-m, an increase of 1% y-o-y. The country’s finished steel production was 4.5 million tons in August, down 2% y-o-y, down 1% m-o-m.

During January-August, Latin American countries produced 43 million tons of crude steel, down 1% y-o-y, the country’s finished steel production amounted 36.1 million tons, down 3% y-o-y.
