So far, the price of ferrosilicon 75# in main producing area is quoted at RMB 4,700 - 4,800/mt, and that of ferrosilicon 72# is RMB 4,450 – 4,550/mt. In fact, as most enterprises are losing money, they are more willing to trim or halt production.

In terms of steel mills’purchase, the tender price of Shanghai Baogang FeSi 72 was settled at RMB 4,980/mt with1,000 tons., reducing by RMB 420/mt from the previous month. Rizhao Steel put ferrosilicon 72 lower to RMB 4,930/mt with 1300 tons. Benxi Steel knocked down ferrosilicon 75 with RMB 5,148/mt for 1500 tons, dropping by RMB 302/mt on the basis of last month. The bidding price of Anshan Steel was RMB 5,200/mt on ferrosilicon 75, down RMB 250/mt, MoM. Guangzhou Lianzhong put ferrosilicon 75 settle at RMB RMB 5180/mt with1200 tons. Meanwhile, Ma steel put low carbon and titanium ferrosilicon tender price at RMB 8,900/mt with 900 tons, up RMB 150/mt, MoM, . As for low carbon ferrosilicon, the steel purchased 500 tons with RMB 8,500/mt.

On the international market, according to MB, the European price of ferrosilicon lingered about USD 1,120 – 1,170/mt, down USD 30/mt from the prior month USD 1,150 – 1,200/mt, while the American transaction price of ferrosilicon was 0.82 - 0.86 cents/pound from 0.83 - 0.87 cents/pound, down 0.01 cent/pound. And the data also showed that the price in HK was lowered to USD 1,160 – 1,190/mt from USD1,200 – 1,220/mt.
