[Ferro-Alloys.com] Guided by International Ferroalloy Industry Association, hosted by Ferro-Alloys.com and China Cored Wires Industry Association (preparation), the 9th Cored Wire Technology & Trade Summit finished its entire schedule successfully on 21th, August in Beijing.

Some 120 delegates from cored wires companies, steel mills, raw materials companies, casting factories, cored wires machines companies, academies attended the meeting chaired by General Manager Liu Zhengzhi from Ferro-Alloys.com.

The topics were as follows: Customs HS Code classification for cored wires products and its Guiding Significance, Trade dispute Resolution in Cored Wires Export Trading, Standardization Revision of Calcium Silicon and Cored Wires and the Influence on the Industry, Application of Calcium Metal Treatment in Steel Production, Experimental study on explosion properties of CaSi powder, Calcium Metal, Calcium Treatment in Steel Production and Solid Ca Cored Wires, Thoughts on Internet+ Traditional Industries, Cored wires products and the Raw materials Market analysis and outlook . Experts and academics on cored wires field gave excellent lectures on these topics and received thunderous applause.

On the topic of “Customs HS Code classification for cored wires”, participants all agreed on the significance of cored wires as a new industry and its irreplaceable role on casting and special steel production. In 1990s, core wires were classified into alloy category, but it was out of date as time went by. Basing on definitions of alloys, cored wires and terms found from industry files, company delegates believed it should be classified into category “3824”. Mr. Zong from Shanghai Customs College pointed out whether it be classified into category 7202 or 3824, alloy powder inside is the key. General Manager Liu Zhengzhi from Ferro-Alloys.com noted that the question should be solved basing on current situation of the industry and data.

A topic interested all was a call to establish cored wires industry association.
