Since alloy producers still tend to purchase mainstream kind of ore, demand for Malaysian manganese ore in China come to slow. What’s more, underperformed manganese alloy in August market would also bring about negative effect on ore market later.

According to data from Chinese Customs Statistics, China imported 22,951.4 tons of Malaysia manganese ore in June, and total imports in the first half year amounted to 286,712.12 tons on the basis of 568,031.31 tons in the same period of early year. In fact, the proportion of Malaysian ore in the total manganese ore imports of China shrank to only 3.77% from 7.2%. Given increasing stocks amid slowing demand, some insiders believed that manganeseore performance in August would be still challenge in China.
