[Ferro-Alloys.com]In late July, ex-work price of ferrosilicon75# remained at RMB5,250-5,350/mt while RMB5,100-5,150/mt for 72#. It is said that HBIS already put August bidding price on ferrosilicon with only RMB5,300/mt from RMB5,400/mt, indicating that performance for ferrosilicon in August would be not optimistic as expected .

In operation rates, Ningxia as the second main producing area, production capacity of ferrosilicon already reached 1.45 million tons. In fact, new production capacity in Zhongwei of Ningxia in recent years improved rapidly. Up to now, there are eight big ferrosilicon factories in Ningxia with more than 200,000 tons of capacity annually. Among of this, production capacity of Ningxia Tianjing Metallurgicai Co.,Ltd arrived 350,000 tons annually. Currently, the company already resumed one third capacity on the heel of shut down for the period of three months. As of export market, price of ferrosilicon 75 still remained at USD1,250-1,270/mt FOB while USD1,230-1,240/mt for 72#FOB.

In short, the new round mills purchase may also indicated that two month rising trend of ferrosilicon end despite only around 40% operation rates.
