[Ferro-Alloys.com]It seems that Chinese imported manganese ore spot still remained at steady after a short three days holiday. Australian Mn46 lumps maintained at RMB25.5-26/mtu at ports in China. As for Mn48 sand ore, the price remained at RMB23.5-24.5/mtu in China. South African Mn38 lumps kept unchanged at RMB22-23/mtu while RMB23.5-24.5/mtu for Mn32%Fe20%. Meanwhile, Gabonese Mn 44lumps fixed at RMB23-24/mtu at ports. Brazilian Mn 44% lumps put steady at RMB 22-23/ mtu in China. Malaysian lump ore Mn>32% dipped to RMB20.5-21.5/mtu.

As new round future quotation from global ore giant, Eramet Comilog Gabonese Mn43% Fe<5% sand ore still pegged at USD2.7/mtu, Mn44-45% Fe<5% Gabonese lump ore kept in line with last month for USD3.0/mtu (CIF, China). CML AustralianMn46%Fe6%SI14%P0.05% was quoted at USD3.30/mtu which basically kept in line with prior month Sight L/C and USD3.35/mtu Usance L/C ( CIF, China). BHP July manganese ore shipment also maintained in line with the prior month, Australian lump ore Mn45.5% Fe<5% maintained at USD3.2/mtu which was basically in line with last month, while Mn49% Fe<5% sand ore was in the same situation with lingering about USD3.0-3.5/mtu CIF, China.

As for market supply, it is reported that China totally imported 1.069 million tons of manganese ore in May according to the latest data from China Customs Statistics, showing a different degree of falling compared with last month 1.3941 million tons and the same period of last year 1.3529 million tons. Meanwhile, one of things that arouse us most is that Australia sharply cut manganese ore exports to China in May which far less than South Africa.

In short, given steady future quotation and reducing imports, it is estimated that imported manganese ore in China would likely to further hold unchanged in the near period.
