Companhia de Ferro Ligas da Bahia (Ferbasa), a ferroalloy producer in Brazil this time has announced its sales volume of ferroalloys in April 2015.
According to this, the sales volumes were 10,087 tons of high-carbon ferro-chrome (up by 5.9% from the year-earlier month), 1,336 tons of low-carbon ferro-chrome (down by 41.3% ditto) and 7,558 tons of ferro-silicon (down by 0.9% ditto), which made a total of 19,011 tons, down by 2.0% from 19,397 tons of the year-earlier month. When compared with the prior month (17,349 tons), it was up by 9.6%.
On the one hand, the inventory level has shown an increasing trend since entering April 2014 and the announcement shows the inventory in the end of April was at a very high level of a total of 91,824 tons, up by 5.7% from the prior month.
For a reference, the sales volumes in March were 11,022 tons of high-carbon ferro-chrome (down by 21.1% from the year-earlier month), 1,235 tons of low-carbon ferro-chrome (down by 32.0% ditto) and 5,092 tons of ferro-silicon (down by 36.7% ditto), which made a total of 17,349 tons, grossly down by 27.2% from 23,832 tons of the year-earlier month.
