[Fellow]Sharp downturn in the Price of Chinese Imported Mn Ore Failed to Stop (Apr06th –Apr10th )

[Ferro-Alloys.com] In recent period, continued flat demand in China added manganese ore sale pressure, resulting in further fluctuation for imported manganese ore spot price in China.

Australian Mn46 lumps dropped to RMB27.5-28.5/mtu at ports in China. As for Mn48 sand ore, the price declined to RMB26.5-27.5/mtu in China. South African Mn38 lumps edged down to RMB24.5-25.5/mtu while RMB28.5-29.5/mtu for Mn32%Fe20%. Meanwhile, Gabonese Mn 44lumps fell to RMB25-26/mtu at ports. Brazilian Mn 44% lumps pushed down to RMB 24.5-25.5/ mtu in China. Malayisan lump ore Mn>30%Fe10% dipped to RMB24-25/mtu.

In fact, there are several factores to further drag down manganese ore spot sales as follows. Firstly, worse performance of manganese alloy allowed alloy companies to trim demand and price of ore. Secondly, lowering future quotation of ore from oversea miners aggravated market competition. Thirdly, slowing demand caused increasing inventories of ore at ports in China. Last but not least, oversupply for crude steel in China would continue to trouble manganese alloy market in the future.

In short, Chinese manganese alloy market would likely to maintain downtrend in April.
