[Ferro-Alloys.com]It is reported that Chine imported 941.4 thousand tons of manganese ore from preceding month 1.5 million tons, showing a sharp downturn. Meanwhile, manganes ore imports value for Feb decreased to 144, 260, 916 dollars from 249, 909, 950 tons in Jan.
In terms of suppliers, South Africa still ranked the first and exported 320.3 thousand tons of manganese ore to China in Feb, but representing a huge contracting compared to prior month 618.6 thousand tons. Brazil, to our surprise, became as the second supplier and shipped 229.2 thousand tons to China on the basis of 187.5 thousand tons in Jan. Australia, however, severed as the third and exported 183.4 thousan tons of manganese ore from 411.8 thousand tons in Jan. Meanwhile, Malayisia placed the fourth and supplied 74.79 thousand tons from only 17.8 thousand in Jan.
In short, ongoing weakened demand in China coupled with holiday in Feb became as main reasons responsible for falling imports of ore. As no signs of pick-up for market, it is estimated that Chinese imported manganes ore spot market would likely to keep on track to downtrend in the near future.
