Till the end of August 2014, operation rate of ferroalloy furnaces slightly rose 0.79% to 59.59% from 58.8% of the end of July 2014, whose increase was about 25,000KVA. Although copper, nickel and aluminum prices were seen some rise, the release of stocks incurred by improvement of prices would prohibit effective pick-up of electricity consuming markethttp://www.ferro-alloys.com. That electrolytic aluminum producers variously suspended operation was the major reason for decrease of electricity consumption. Gansu government should guide local aluminum producers to enhance competitiveness and complete industrial chain through asset integration. In addition, the government should place much focus on the serial difficulties such as tough withdrawal of loans, tight finance, rising road and rail freights. Furthermore, the government should coordinate banks, rail bureau and transport authorities to provide favored policies to help enterprises go through the difficult period.
