[Ferro-alloys.com] According to latest statistics of USITC, US imported 14,462 mt of ferrosilicon in August 2014, registering great decreases of 40.7% from 24,397 mt of July 2014 and 43.1% from 25,426 mt of August 2013.

In August 2014, US mainly imported ferrosilicon from China (8,167 mt) and Canada (3,180 mt). The major exporters of ferrosilicon were Russia (14,250 mt), China (4,403 mt) and Canada (2,792 mt) in July 2014.

In August 2014 US imported naught volumes from Russia and Venezuela, which could be attributed to the dumping investigation which was still in process during that period and contained uncertainty for final determination as to whether there would be cancellation or continuation of anti-dumping duties.
