[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to the statistics, during 2009 and 2013, average annual increase of global nickel ores output was 17.6%, of which Indonesian nickel ores accounted for 39%, the Philippines was 27.7%. Average annual growth rate of primary nickel production was 10.3%. Both China’s primary nickel production and its global proportion reached the highest point in 2013, while then they turned down.
In 2013, primary nickel output of China amounted to 710thousand tons, accounting for 36% in the world, of which ferronickel production reached 481thousand tons. It was expected that in 2014, the primary nickel production would achieve 650thousand tons, decreasing by 8.5% year on year. The decrease was mainly caused by decline of the FeNi production, which was predicted to be 400 thousand tons.
In 2015, it was expected that the primary nickel production would decline to 510thousand tons.
