[Ferro-alloys.com] Affected by steady demand and loss status, the overall operation rate kept low in ferrosilicon industry, which was around 60%. Only some large ferrosilicon producers could maintain 80% or even higher. Ningxing Hui region ranked top three in terms of capacity and output of ferrosilicon in China, owing to large number and scale.

Ningxia Hui government had agreed on raising favored unit power price by RMB0.01, which was likely to reduce the power cost of ferrosilicon producers. The rough reduction was about RMB85 for one ton ferrosilicon. Local government had required the newly built ferrosilicon projects be put into operation by the end of September 2014. Thus the overall operation rate was likely to improve in China’s Ningxia Hui Region.
