The West African nation, the world's top cocoa grower, is pushing development of its long-neglected mining sector in an effort to diversify its economy, which is heavily dependent on agricultural commodity exports.
"Gold production was 15.5 t in 2013. We forecast 17 t in 2014," Jean-Claude Brou told a mining conference in the commercial capital Abidjan.
"Manganese production was 245 499 t in 2013. Targeted production in 2014 is 300 000 t," he said.
The West African currency union's central bank has forecast that Ivory Coast's economy will grow 9.1% this year, helped by rising foreign investment and increasing demand for commodities as the global economy improves.
Canada's Endeavour Mining opened its Agbaou gold mine earlier this year with annual production expected to reach three tonnes.
Randgold's Tongon mine, Newcrest's Bonikro and La Mancha's Ity are the other gold mines operating in the country.
The government is seeking to produce 25 t of gold next year.
India's Dharni Sampda Private Limited operates a manganese mine near the northeastern town of Bondoukou. China National Geological and Mining Corporation extracted the first manganese, a metal used in the production of steel, from the previously abandoned Lauzoua mine in April last year.
Côte d'Ivoire is targeting manganese production of around one-million tonnes of ore within three years.
