[Ferro-Alloys.com] In late March, silicon metal products were still in tight supply on spot market both in southern and northern areas. As for the northern areas, most manufacturers kept producing based on the orders and they could hardly have inventories to sell before the late April. In southern areas, considering the high power costs, Si capacity utilization rate was quite low in dry season. Meanwhile, most producers had no plans to restart furnaces in a short time.

 

Above all, it’s thought that the shortage of Si products may not be relieved in a short time. Therefore, it’s estimated that Si price might have less chance to increase in future due to the tight supply.
