In the first quarter, the output of crude steel, pig iron and steel in China was 243.38 million tons, 200.91 million tons and 311.93 million tons respectively.

In FY 2021 / 22, the output and export volume of finished steel products in India increased significantly year-on-year by 17.7% and 25.1% respectively.

In March, the production of raw coal was 395.79 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%.

Analysis said that the demand in April may be lower than expected, restraining the rise of steel prices.

Tangshan's crude steel output was 130 million tons in 2021, a year-on-year decrease of 9%.

In 2023 steel demand will see further growth of 2.2% to reach 1,881.4 Mt. The current forecast is subject to high uncertainty.
