BHP will invest $90mn into private firm Kabanga Nickel to accelerate the development of the Kabanga nickel project in Tanzania.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has inaugurated a nickel ore processing and refining plant in Konawe district, Southeast Sulawesi, which will have a production capacity of more than 1 million tons per year.

Australia is expected to increase its production of copper, nickel and zinc over the next two years, according to the government's commodity forecaster.

Refined nickel production in January-September totalled 2.043mn t, while apparent demand was 2.151mn t.
