[Ferro-Alloys.com]Shaw River Manganese has joined Consolidated Minerals and OM Holdings in waving the white flag over manganese mining operations, calling in Pitcher Partners as voluntary administrators late last week.

A reserve of more than 192 million tonnes of manganese ore, believed to be the largest in Asia, has been discovered in southwest China's Guizhou Province, it was announced Friday.

Diversified spin-off South32 on Thursday reported that it was on track to meet production guidance for the majority of its upstream operations, despite reporting a drop in second-quarter and half-year output.
