Silicon metal price tended downwards in the third week of November. High-grade silicon metal and chemical silicon metal price turned down.

Till the end of this week, November bids of ferrosilicon had come to en end in China and some ferrosilicon producers had reduced operation rate due to slashed purchase prices and volumes of the steel mills.

In September, Brazil exported 7936 tons of silicon metal (Si<99.99%), falling down by 29.7% M-O-M and down by 31.8% Y-O-Y. In Jan-Sept, 2014, Brazil totally exported 102504 tons of silicon metal, down by 0.95% Y-O-Y.

According to the statistics of US International Trade Commission, America imported 17141 mt of silicon metal in September 2014, up by 18.1% M-O-M. The materials were mainly imported from Brazil (4722mt), South Africa (2782mt), Australia (1672mt), Canada (3391m...

On October 30, Japan Aluminium Alloy Refiners Association released the result of demand & supply for silicon metal and the result of production of secondary aluminium alloy products in September 2014.

According to statistic of Japan Customs, Japan imported 18385 tons of silicon metal in September, up by 20.2% Y-O-Y. The materials were mainly imported from China with import volume at 17940 tons.
