Merafe Resources has reported that its attributable ferrochrome production from the Glencore Merafe Chrome Venture in the first quarter ended March 31 was 77 000 t.

Russian metals giant Nornickel, the world’s largest palladium producer and a major producer of high-grade nickel, cut nickel production by 10% year on year in the first quarter to 42,000 metric tons, the company said on Monday.

The total trading volume of 2406 contract on the exchange was 148138 lots, with a turnover of about 4993.8428 million yuan.

In the fiscal year 2023-24, domestic consumption of finished steel saw a significant growth of 13%, reaching 136 million tonnes.
